Asian Beef and Noodles Recipe
Note: Use a large cutting board and chop all your veggies and leave them on the board. This prevents you from adding to the workload and to prevent all the extra dishes you will have to wash.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup hoisin sauce
- 2 Tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 Tablespoon water
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 pound Beef Round Steak, thinly sliced
- 6 ounce noodles or spaghetti, uncooked
- 4 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1 8 ounce can sliced water chestnuts
- 1 purple onion, sliced thick
- 1 cup snow peas
- 10 ounce fresh baby spinach
- 1 red chile, seeded and sliced
- sliced almonds, optional for garnish
- sliced green onions, optional for garnish
Equipment Needed:
- Large Cutting Board
- Sharp Knife
- Mixing Bowls
- Pot for cooking noodles
- Wok
How to make a healthier beef lo mein:
Directions

In a small bowl, mix the first five ingredients to make the marinade. Remove ¼ cup of the mixed marinade and place in a large bowl, add the sliced beef to the larger bowl and toss to coat. Marinate for 10 minutes.

Cook spaghetti accordingly to package directions, drain.

In a large skillet or wok, add heat vegetable oil and heat. Add the beef mixture and stir-fry until no longer pink, about 2-3 minutes. (may have to cook in two batches if skillet or wok is not large enough). Remove beef to a plate and cover to keep warm.

Stir-fry the water chestnuts, purple onions, and snow peas in oil for 1-2 minute until crisp-tender. Add spinach and hoisin mixture, toss to coat and stir-fry until spinach is wilted.
