We wanted to come up with a way to always have easy desserts on hand. Strawberry shortcake is probably one of the easiest desserts to assemble. And if all the ingredients were frozen, then it would really rock. . But it would also be handy to be like a single serving strawberry shortcake so we could whip up only two for our household. Or if I or the hubby has a craving we could have an amazing snack by making only one.

We believe you are going to enjoy making and serving this easy no bake desert. We used a frozen pound cake, frozen strawberries and whipped topping that can be, you guessed it, frozen. So you can have on the ingredients on hand for a quick dessert.
Can I use fresh strawberries instead of frozen Strawberries:
Yes, you can use fresh strawberries but you will probably need to sweeten them a little. And then allow them to set out so that the sugar can draw out the natural juices. The best rule of thumb is to add a little sugar then taste them and then add more if you wish. Whether you use fresh strawberries or frozen strawberries you need to make sure they have plenty of juice for this strawberry shortcake.
3 Ingredient Strawberry Shortcake:
Ingredients for one single serving strawberry shortcake:
- 1 slice of Pound Cake (we used Sara Lee from the Frozen Department)
- ¼ cup of Frozen, Sliced & Sweetened Strawberries, in juice
- 4 tablespoons of Whipped Cream
Equipment Needed:
- Clear Glass or Plastic Dessert Cups
Start your three ingredient strawberry shortcake by remove strawberries from your freezer. And allow them to thaw completely. Cut a 1 inch slice of pound cake then cut it into 8 equal size cubes.
For each of your servings add four cake cubes to the bottom of a small dessert cup.
Spoon about one tablespoon of the sweeten strawberries and juice over the cake cubes. You could add more if you wish but remember this is only the first layer so be sure to leave enough berries and room in the cup.
Cover the shortcake with about 1-2 tablespoons of whipped cream and spread it out evenly.
Layer the remaining 4 cubes of poundcake and then the strawberries into the dessert cup.
Top with more whipped topping. You can double this recipe to enjoy strawberry shortcake for two which works so well for us here at the Ranch.
