French Toast Batter with Flour Recipe:
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 Tablespoon white sugar, optional
- 1 cup milk
- 4 eggs
- 1 Tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 12 slices bread
- Butter, for cooking (as needed)
- Real Maple Syrup, optional
- Strawberries, optional
- Whip Cream, optional
Special Equipment Needed:
- Pancake Griddle
- or Cast Iron Skillet
How to Make Cinnamon French Toast:
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and milk. Whisk until very well combined.
Add in all four of the eggs and beat well until the french toast batter is thoroughly combined.
Add your cinnamon and vanilla extract to your french toast batter and stir to combine.
Place a skillet or griddle over medium-low heat and add 1/2 Tablespoon butter. Pour the french toast batter into a small casserole dish or Tupperware container for easy dipping.
Once the butter is melted in the skillet and it is hot, dip one slice of bread into the batter mixture, and flip covering both sides of the bread.
Remove the coated bread and allow the excess french toast batter to drip off then place it in the hot skillet. If you use your cast iron skillet it cooks more evenly and you can usually fit at least two slices in it. And of course if you are using a griddle then your can make several cinnamon french toast slices at a time.
Cook for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes and remove from skillet. Then repeat with all the other slices of bread.
This recipe make 6 servings of 2 slices each. You can serve it with real maple syrup and/or with strawberries, bananas and topped with whip cream for an extra special breakfast or brunch dish.
