Pulled Pork with Coke Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2-3 pound Pork Boston Butt Roast
- 1 teaspoon dried minced onion
- ½ teaspoon granulated garlic
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
- ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1-2 12 ounce can of coca cola soda
- BBQ Sauce
- 6-8 Buns
Equipment Needed:
- Slow Cooker
- Meat Claws or two forks, to shred
How to make coca cola pulled pork in a crockpot:
Spray the inside of the crock of the slow cooker with a non sticking cooking spray. Place your pork roast inside and season it with the garlic, onion, black pepper and cayenne pepper.
Add 1 teaspoon of your choice of flavors of liquid smoke. (we used the mesquite flavor but it does come with hickory or pecan flavorings)
Pour the cocoa cola over the roast to completely cover it. We used a smaller crockpot (3 quarts) and only used one 12 ounce can of coke. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours until completely tender.
When done, remove pork from the crockpot (save juices) and shred with meat claws or with two forks. Add some of the saved juices if your pulled pork with coke is too dry. Otherwise it’s ready to serve.
Toast bread buns of your choice and pile with plenty of this coca cola pulled pork and top with your favorite BBQ sauce. Garnish with pickles and pickled onions and serve with sides of potato salad, coleslaw and/or beans.
