How to make a simple rustic Christmas card holder:
Start your hanging card holder by making sure your twine is skinny enough to go through the wooden beads and the eyes of the clothespins you have chosen.
Then determine your desired length of the finished product. We made ours 70 inches with a total of 8 clothespins but you could make yours longer or shorter. Measure and cut your jute twine to your desired length adding about 8-10 inches. This will allow enough extra twine to make a loop on each end for hanging.
Spray paint your clothes pins with gold paint or depending on the color of your beads, you might wish to leave them natural. But if you have red or green beads then either color would look pretty on the clothes pins.
Thread the beads onto the twine and every 7 inches add a clothes pin by threading the twine through the “eye’ of the metal spring. Then repeat these steps until you have reached your desired length. Note: If you wish for your Christmas cards to overlap you could place the clothes pins closer together.
Tie the end into a loop with a square knot and repeat on the other end. Hang up your rustic card holder and start pinning your Christmas cards up for display.
This DIY rustic hanging card holder is so simply but looks so festive with a Farmhouse feel. BTW: We did find this inexpensive red and green beads with jute twine kit which would also make a very pretty Christmas card holder.
