Where to eat in Fredricksburg:
Be sure to check at least one German Restaurant Fredricksburg has to offer. This charming little community has a strong German history and presence.
Start your day off right with an indulgent breakfast treat – after all, you’re on vacation! While there are several great donut shops and bakeries in town, I highly recommend Hill Country Donuts & Kolaches. They’re known for their namesake kolaches, fruit- or cheese-filled pastries from Central Europe, but serve up plenty of other sweet and savory treats to enjoy in the morning.
For a quick lunch, everyone in the family will appreciate, stop by Opa’s Smoked Meat German Restaurant Fredericksburg. Choose from one of their signature sandwich creations, or build your own by choosing from a variety of bread, condiments, meats, cheeses, and toppings. Dine there or take your sandwiches to go for a delicious picnic in a nearby park. Don’t forget to grab some jerky for a great afternoon snack!
Silver Creek Restaurant is also a great choice for a German restaurant Fredericksburg style. It features Authentic Geman Food and Tex-clectric cuisine. And with open mic nights or live music as you dine inside or outside under a gorgeous Bois d’arch tree which shades the entire front patio.
Another must-try dinner spot is a local favorite that’s quite literally a hidden gem, as it’s situated in the basement of a store. At Vaudeville, you’ll find a menu filled with salads, sandwiches, wood-fired pizzas, and daily specials that rotate between well-loved dishes like crawfish etouffee and duck confit. Whether you’re in town to celebrate an anniversary or a special occasion or you’re simply looking to share a memorable meal with your family, you won’t regret adding Vaudeville to your itinerary.
