This is an easy drop biscuit recipe that makes 12 cheddar biscuits that will delight your family. In fact you just might wish to make two batches so you will have plenty. And you can serve them with just about anything.
What’s in Cheddar Garlic Biscuits:
Ingredients
- 1 & ¾ cup all purpose flour
- 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted, divided
- Pinch of salt
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoons scallions, thin sliced

How to make these cheddar biscuits:
To start your cheddar garlic biscuits, preheat your oven to 375°F. Then line two baking sheets with parchment paper, set them aside. In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, sugar, baking powder, and ½ teaspoon salt. Whisk to combine well.
Add the shredded cheddar to the flour mixture and mix until well coated in the flour. Set aside.
In a small bowl, add the egg and lightly beat the egg. Add in the milk and ¼ cup of the cooled melted butter, mix to combine. Add the wet mixture to the dry flour mixture.
Then stir until everything is just combined, a few lumps is okay, but make sure there are no dry patches.
Use a spoon or a ¼ cup scooper to evenly dollop 12 portions of the biscuit mix onto the baking sheets, six on each baking sheet. Each biscuit equals about ¼ cup of biscuit mix. and they should be about 3 inches apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 17-20 minutes until golden brown.
While the biscuits are baking, mix a pinch of salt, the garlic powder, and the sliced scallions with the remaining melted butter. When the biscuits are done, immediately brush them all evenly with the butter topping.
Let these cheddar garlic biscuits cool slightly on a wire rack and then serve them while they are still warm.
