This Spinach Puffs Recipe is a cheesy spinach dip baked in puff pastry cups. We use a three cheese blend added to frozen spinach to make these delicious cheese pastry puff bites. Serve these spinach dip puff bites as an appetizer or snack.
Puff pastry is an ingredient that needs to be in your freezer at all times. It will last 10-12 months in the freezer so we always have a package or two handy for a quick dessert. But it isn’t just for desserts. This cheese spinach puffs recipe is an easy savory appetizer that can be ready in minutes.

We use cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese and frozen spinach to make these easy spinach and cheese pastry bites. These are so easy to serve and with the flaky pastry and cheese dip, it’s over the top delicious. This recipe makes 12 spinach dip puff bites.
Spinach Puffs Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 puff pastry sheet
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 10 ounces frozen spinach, thawed
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper
Equipment Needed:
- Rolling Pin
- Pizza Cutter (optional, may also use a knife)
- 12 Cup Muffin Tin
- Pastry Brush
- Mixing Bowl
- Potato Ricer or paper towels to remove water from spinach.
How to Make these Spinach Dip Puff Bites:
To start your spinach dip puff bites preheat your oven to 400° F. Roll out the puff pastry sheet until it’s around ¼ inch thick and cut it into 12 equal sized rectangles with a pizza cutter or a knife.
Spray each cup of your muffin tin with a non stick cooking spray. Gently press a puff pastry rectangle into each cup of your muffin tin.
Brush each pastry rectangle with melted butter and top with the garlic powder and parsley.
Prior to using the thawed spinach the water must be removed and it needs to be almost dry. Place the thawed spinach in a potato ricer to squeeze all the water from the spinach. Or you can use paper towels or kitchen towels to squeezed it dry.
Add the spinach in a large mixing bowl along with the cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper and stir to combine.
Spoon the spinach and cheese mixture into the pastry cups until they’re around halfway full. Place the spinach and cheese pastry cups in the preheat oven and bake for 10-15 minutes until the puff pastry is golden brown.
Remove the Spinach Dip Puff Pastry cups from the muffin tin pan. Allow them to cool slightly before serving.
