As a teenager from the seventies I am loving the fact that tie dye is making a comeback. And this is a fun twist from the tie dye t-shirts I made in the past. These tie dye easter eggs are super easy and I know your little ones would love to make these.

One thing about tie dye eggs for easter is no egg looks like any other. And you can use any color or colors you wish. Plus we used supplies that you probably already have in your house such as food coloring and coffee filters.
What you will need to make coffee filter dyed eggs:
Supplies:
- White hard-boiled eggs
- Food Coloring
- Coffee Filter
- Twist Ties
Equipment needed:
- Water Spray bottle
- Plastic gloves
How to Make Tie Dye Eggs:
Make sure you are starting with dry, hard boiled eggs that you have cooled completely. Place one of your eggs in the center of a paper coffee filter.
Fold the coffee filter up around the egg and use your twist tie to close. Wrap the rest of your eggs in coffee filters and tie.
Place drops of food coloring directly on your wrapped eggs. Be sure to leave white spaces as well. Continue until the filters are covered with spots.
Gently spray each food coloring dot with the water bottle. The food coloring will spread and mix with the other colors. Squeeze out the extra water with a paper towel. And place on a parchment covered sheet pan to dry overnight.
Carefully unwrap the eggs from the dried filters. Now enjoy!
