Ingredients

Homemade Ice cream ingredients

  • 2 cups half and half
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Four Layer Ice Cream Pie Ingredients

  • 16 chocolate sandwich cookies crumbled (we used Oreos)
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • ¾ cup hot fudge topping room temperature
  • 2 Quarts Vanilla Ice Cream Homemade (see recipe) or store Bought
  • 1 21 ounce can cherry pie filling

Instructions

Homemade Ice cream Directions

  • Mix half & half, whipping cream, sugar and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add to your Ice Cream maker and follow manufacturers instructions for that particular ice cream maker

Assembling the Four Layer Ice Cream Pie

  • Heat your oven to 375° F.
  • In the food processor, place the crumbled cookies and process for 10-15 seconds until finely crushed. Add the melted butter and process 5-10 seconds until thoroughly mixed.
  • Spread the cookie mixture into the pie plate and press on the bottom and up the sides. Make sure the bottom and sides are evenly covered as much as possible.
  • Bake in you preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until set, cool completely.
  • Stir hot fudge topping until smooth. Carefully spread over the bottom of the Oreo cookie crust. Place in freezer for about 30 minutes.
  • Spread the vanilla ice cream over the fudge layer and cover. Place in freezer and allow to freeze for about 1 hour or until firm.
  • Remove from freezer, slice and top with spoonfuls of the cherry pie filling.
  • Serve and enjoy.
