- 3 tablespoons butter melted
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup dark corn syrup Karo
- 2 tablespoons of bourbon
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 1 9-inch unbaked deep-dish pie crust
Start your Texas Pecan Pie by preheating your oven to 350° F.
Add the brown sugar and eggs to a large mixing bowl.
Mix in the corn syrup, melted butter, salt, bourbon and vanilla.
Mix the pecan pie filling well using a mixer before adding the pecans.
Gently stir in the pecans and pour into the prepared pie crust. Place a pie crust protector over the crust of the pie and place it on a cooking sheet.
Bake on center rack of the oven for 60 to 70 minutes and remove from oven.
Cool at least for 2 hours on a wire rack before serving. Serve as it or topped with whipped topping.
